The New York Daily News - 5/2/2019
May 02-- May 2--Burger King is looking to get real with its new Mental Health Awareness Month meals.
The fast-foot chain launched new boxes, called "Real Meals," for its Whoppers that come in a variety of "moods."
Customers can now purchase a Pissed Meal, Blue Meal, Salty Meal, YAAS Meal and DGAF (Don't Give a F--k) Meal, all as part of its collaboration with Mental Health America to bring attention to mental health.
"Burger King restaurants understand that no one is happy all the time," the press release read.
The ad appeared to spoof McDonald's, which is famously known for its Happy Meals.
The new boxes became available Wednesday, the start of Mental Health Month. Each includes a flame-grilled whopper sandwich, french fries and a drink.
"By using its internationally-known reputation to discuss the importance of mental health, Burger King is bringing much-needed awareness to this important and critical discussion -- and letting its customers know that is OK to not be OK," Paul Gionfriddo, president and CEO of Mental Health America, said.
Burger King tweeted about its new products, noting that "all that matters is that you #FeelYourWay."
New Yorkers can get their hands on the limited-edition meals at the chain located at 474 Seventh Ave. Across the globe, the boxes will be available in Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin and Miami Beach.
