Recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month
The Daily Record - 5/14/2019
Nearly 30 mental health care providers gathered in the Wayne County Commissioners meeting room on Wednesday to receive a proclamation for National Mental Health Awareness Month. The providers represented five local organizations including Anazao Community Partners, Catholic Charities, NAMI of Wayne and Holmes Counties, the Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties, and OneEighty. “Everybody here needs our appreciation. It’s not just about one month but every single day, addressing it,” Judy Wortham Wood, executive director of Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne-Holmes Counties, said about bringing awareness to mental illness and recovery. NAMI will host its annual Walk for Wellness on May 18 at 9 a.m. at Secrest Arboretum to raise funds for mental health recovery programs in Wayne and Holmes counties.
