Hempfield High School boys and girls tennis teams volunteered for four weeks with the Steinman Cup program, above. The students helped players younger than 10, and also those playing for Special Olympics.
Teacher wins excellence award
Jadi Redcay, a second grade teacher at Landisville Primary Center, has received the International Teacher Excellence Award from the International Technology & Engineering Educators Association.
The award recognizes technology and engineering teachers’ outstanding contributions to the profession and their students.
Students in spotlight at TV conference
Hempfield High School senior Taylor Hess was master of ceremonies for the National Student Television Network competition and conference, held in March in Seattle.
Also at the event, junior Riley Klepper earned third place in editing.

Centerville Students of the Quarter
Centerville Middle School recognized 10 Students of the Second Quarter. Faculty members select the honorees for attitude, service, character and scholarship.
Eighth-grade honorees were Davey Striggle, Alexia Vargas, Jonathan Tsang, Erin Riley and Chase Calabretta.
Seventh-grade honorees were Jackson Landis, Alyssa Roedema, Zeke Stephens, Kate Howard and Josiah Pletcher.
