Classes offered for mental health, diabetes

The National Alliance for Mental Illness-Duluth area is offering a free 12-week "family to family" class for family members and friends of individuals with a serious mental illness. The class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 12 in the conference room at Birch Tree Center, 4720 Burning Tree Road. Registration is required. Living Well With Diabetes, a free, six-week workshop, is being offered at two places in the Northland: 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Sept. 11 at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Retail Center, 425 W. Superior St., No. 1060; and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 12 at Community Memorial Hospital, 512 Skyline Blvd., Cloquet.
