Sept. 14--DECATUR -- The Children's Museum of Illinois will hold a sensory friendly event 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15.
Families can explore the museum at their own pace with diminished crowds and with exhibits turned down for those with sensory processing disorders, autism or other special needs.
The museum also offers light-dimming glasses, a social story and noise dampening headphones during normal hours of operation to make the museum more accessible.
Admission is $6 per person for everyone age 2 and older, with discounts for families with EBT/LINK cards, senior citizens 65 and older and families with a military ID.
For more information, call the museum at (217) 423-5437.
