BRIEF: VA to hold mental health summit Sept. 20

Sept. 13--The VA Western New York Healthcare System will hold its 2018 Mental Health Summit on Sept. 20 at its 3495 Bailey Ave. facility.
The summit will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature presentations on pain management for returning veterans, military culture, readjustment needs of transitioning veterans and a presentation from Dr. Drew Helmer, the director of New Jersey'sWar-Related Illness and Injury Study Center.
The summit will also offer healthcare enrollment for veterans, continuing education for health providers and tours of the VA Western New York Health Care System campus.
VA officials said the goal of the event is to help veterans find resources and enhanced access to medical and mental health services for recently-separated military members, families and veterans enrolled in VA health care.
